GUINNEVERE - 15.2H, 7 yr old, Palomino QH
Free to an approved home
Gwen is a super sweet Palomino mare that was rescued from Cranbury Auction with her best buddy on December 10th 2015. She hails from Missouri per her November 2015 coggins. She was thin, depressed and desperately attached to number 218. Since arriving at Pleasant Meadow she was given time to rest and recuperate. She's only been back under saddle for about a month. Although she was rather inexperienced, she was completely unfazed in her surroundings, giving me every indication she was going to be a solid citizen. She generally goes right to work and has a good work ethic. She's very smart and learns quickly. I trust my daughter who's a beginner rider to ride her, knowing she'll be safe.
She was a perfect angel at her first gymkhana and stood beautifully in a packed indoor with about 20 horses milling/running about. She wasn't exactly sure what to do, but she tried for me. The following week I took her back to the AEA indoor for her first dressage show with her pasture buddy, where she was less angelic. Leading me to believe that she'll need repetition to get over being away from her pasture mate (who was equally naughty at the show). Neither one wanted to be separated from the other and voiced their opinion when being taken away.
I expect Gwen will make a great trail companion, 4H mount, or just a happy pleasure horse with her cool demeanor and kind temperament.
Gwen loads well, ships well, is good for the vet, and will need reassurance to be perfect for the farrier (she danced around a bit). She's barefoot and shouldn't need shoes, but will need boots for trail riding on roads. She can be a bit off behind if worked hard. Hence, she is free to a loving home that will enjoy riding her lightly on trails and for pleasure.
She's up to date on shots, coggins and recent fecal test/treated. Please email for more details and to set up a time to come look at her.
